The Huawei P30 series packs some impressive camera tech, such as great zoom, ultra-wide angle cameras, and extreme low-light capabilities. It also looks like these phones might be your best pick if you’re a Snapchat user.
Huawei has teamed up with Snapchat to deliver improved photo and video quality when using the new flagships, according to a sponsored post on TechRadar. So what kind of improvements should you expect?
The outlet notes that the P30 and P30 Pro will shoot at a higher resolution when using Snapchat, although it’s unclear whether this applies to photos, videos, or both formats. Furthermore, Snapchat videos shot on the P30 series will offer better video stabilization.
Huawei added that the P30 and P30 Pro’s ultra-wide angle camera will also be supported by the app soon. This feature will come via a software update, although there’s no release window just yet.
The post specifically mentions that these improvements will come to the Middle East, but you’d assume that these tweaks will come to the rest of the world too. We’ve asked Huawei and Snapchat for more details about the arrangement, including the possibility of telephoto cameras being used in the app, and will update the story accordingly.
In any event, we’re glad to see Snapchat paying attention to Android in the past year or so. The firm is in the midst of rolling out a rewritten Android app as well, so you should see an improved app even if you don’t have a Huawei phone. Either way, we hope Snapchat’s days of treating the platform like a second-class citizen are gone.
