With the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro still under wraps until May 21, it’s the Honor 20 Lite that gets first dibs in the limelight. The good news is that the phone brings flagship-like features and a budget-friendly price.
Starting with the front, the Honor 20 Lite features a 6.21-inch display with Full HD+ (2,340 x 1,080) resolution and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. The selfie camera lives in the waterdrop notch up top.
The Honor 20 Lite loses some luster when you notice the Micro-USB port at the bottom. The presence of a headphone jack is greatly appreciated, but the aging Micro-USB port (in this case) means that the phone lacks fast charging. Be prepared to wait quite a bit longer to juice up the Honor 20 Lite’s 3,400mAh battery.
Around back is where things pick up, with the device featuring either a Midnight Black or Phantom Blue colorway. The two color gradients are stunning and look even better in person, though you’ll need a case on the back to protect against scratches and scuffs.
There’s also a Phantom Red colorway. Phantom Red is quite a bit louder than the other two options and is seemingly restricted to specific regions, at least for now.
Also around back is a triple-camera setup — the primary 24MP sensor, ultra wide-angle 8MP sensor, and 2MP depth sensor. That’s a decent arrangement, particularly with the ultra-wide-angle camera capable of 120-degree shots.
Under the hood, the Honor 20 Lite features Huawei’s homegrown Kirin 710 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of expandable storage. The phone runs EMUI 9.0 on top of Android 9 Pie out of the box, with EMUI 9.1 hopefully in the cards.
